After three kids you would think that I would remember simple everyday things to make my life easier. Well today was not one of those days. Today at lunch I gave the boys good ol' PB&J. It was easy and they both like it. I usually take Carson's shirt off when he eats messy food like this. Today would be the day I lost my brain. He was wearing a one piece romper. I didn't want to deal with taking it off. So of coarse there would be major consequences for my actions. Carson played in his sandwich and got it ALL over himself. So after Carson was finished I took off his clothes and washed him in the kitchen sink. I even went and changed his diaper because he had gotten jelly on it. After that I laid both boys down for their nap. About 2o minutes later I heard Carson playing in his crib. I went in there to find him jumping and to talking to Caleb. Caleb was totally asleep and didn't even know that Carson was still awake. I then told Carson to lay down and go to sleep. Which he did. Then I smelled the smell. Here is my second mistake of the day! When I laid Carson down for his nap I didn't redress him. I figured I would after he woke up from his nap. BIG MISTAKE! After careful inspection I noticed Carson didn't have a diaper on, there were four piles of wet poop in his crib and he had it all over his foot and his head! Yes, his head! When I told him to lay down and go to sleep, he slapped his face in one of those piles. :) Needless to say... I had to totally bathe Carson, strip his bed, Clorox wipe his mattress and crib slats. After all that I finally got him dressed. This time with a diaper, shorts and a shirt. All of this was done in the room with the light on. Caleb slept during it all. I finally was able to put Carson back down for his nap 30 minutes later. Instead of taking a break during their nap today I was busy washing poop stains off the sheet, pillow and blankey. Goodness. If I only would have taken off that silly romper and redressed Carson after lunch all of this would not have happened. This is one of those mistakes I will only have to make once.
I almost took a picture of Carson covered in poop. I decided that he needed to be washed off more than I needed that picture. :)

Love the story. We have some similar stories from our house. There is never a dull moment with little ones around.
You are bringing back memories of an experience we had with Katie once. Poop everywhere! Sorry you had that experience, too - I wouldn't wish it on anyone!!
Been there, done that my friend!
When I was reading this I had a feeling I knew where you were headed. lol
J and I once found Owen in his bed covered in a poopie mess too. Poor thing was so scared. lol Needless to say, our afternoon was filled with clorox wipes, baths, and laundry!
I have not experienced this as of yet... but I am sure the day is not far off! You handled it well!
Oh man....what a day!! So far I've only had a diaper removed & urine on the bed...no poop...yet!
