Ice Cream For Breakfast

Yes, you read this right. Call me desperate. OK, here is the deal. Caleb is three and is totally potty trained during the day. It took me all summer to do it but it got done. ( I say me.. because face it ladies.... it is work for the momma too!) During the summer we took Caleb out of pull ups totally and put him in big boy underwear during the day. He stayed dry... even during his naps. At night I started putting him in his brother's diapers. I found that is was WAY cheaper than buying pull ups for him. ( When I looked at our Sam's bill for diapers, wipes and pull ups for three.... I was over it!!!) Anyway, I found that Caleb's diaper was starting to be dry every morning. So last week I asked him if he wanted to wear either big boy underwear to bed or a diaper. Caleb chose a diaper. I then told him if he wore underwear and they were dry in the morning he could get a surprise. Well.... Caleb decided that he REALLY wanted a surprise and chose to wear the underwear. That night after all the good night kisses and one last potty break, Caleb prayed that he would not pee pee his bed. Well the next morning ALL our prayers were answered. Caleb came running into our bedroom asking for his surprise. We made a quick trip to the potty and off to the kitchen we went. Caleb ran right into the pantry looking for a really good surprise. After a few seconds of looking at his choices Caleb announced he wanted an ice cream cone for his surprise. I thought about it for a second. I decided that my goal here was DRY underwear...... so I did it. I scooped a really small cone out at 7am. Caleb was the happiest little guy you could have ever seen. He ran into our bedroom and showed his daddy what he had. At first Christian thought that I had really lost it....... and then he realized what was going on. After that Caleb called his Ma'am'ma and Mimi and told them all about his dry underwear and his yummy ice cream cone. For the next three mornings..... ice cream was the request at breakfast!
